Luduvo Game Jam: Unfinished

Luduvo Game Jam: Unfinished

Hello everyone, and welcome to Luduvo’s first ever game jam!

Give yourself a pat on the back if you’re one of the lucky few to be able to participate in this one.

With the release of scripting and publishing for Luduvo Studio, we’re proud to announce the first game jam open to all alpha testers, hence the name Alpha Jam!

Theme

We figured that since Luduvo is still in development, the only fitting theme for this game jam is unfinished! Think under construction, work in progress, etc… How you interpret that creatively is entirely up to you!

Timeline & Rules

Timeline

  • July 1st: Game Jam announcement & Building Begins

  • July 23rd (11:59pm EST): Submission Deadline

Rules

To keep things fair and fun for everyone, please make sure to follow these guidelines carefully:

  1. Title Tag: When publishing your game, ensure you have [ALPHA JAM] in the title of your game.

  2. Credit Your Team: List all helpers using their @/usernames in the description of your game.

  3. Team Limits: There is a maximum of 3 team members per project.

  4. Fresh Builds Only: The game cannot have been previously published. Any games created or released prior to July 1st will be rejected.

  5. Stay On Theme: Make sure your game is relevant to the Unfinished theme!

  6. Play by the Rules: All submissions must strictly follow the Community and Creator guidelines.

Any submissions not following any of the rules above will be disqualified from participating, so for the love of Luduvo, please stick to the rules!

Judging Guidelines

To be as transparent about how we’ll be judging submissions for this game jam, we’ve decided to add this section!

Our submissions team will spend a minimum of 7 minutes playing each game. There will be 10 winning games total, scored out of 25 points based on 5 categories (5 points each):

  • Theme Interpretation: How creatively did the game incorporate the unfinished theme?

  • Creativity: Does the game stand out from the crowd? Does it take risks or try something completely unique?

  • Innovation: Is the game something that is completely unique and “outside the box”?

  • Presentation: How well is the game actually constructed?

Note: In the event of a tie, the tie-breaker will be decided by whichever game is more popular in the community!

Prizes

We have some awesome cosmetics lined up for the winners of this Alpha Jam!

  • 1st Place: Wins an exclusive Caution-themed Crown!

  • 1st - 5th Place: Wins an Under Construction Sign Cosmetic!

  • 1st - 10th Place: All 10 winning developers will receive a special Alpha Jam Medal featuring yellow and black caution theming!
