Before Itemaggedon started, I had many thoughts about it. Me and many other people misinterpreted it as a limited-exclusive event, but that only occurred due to poor wording. Now, after the Itemaggedon, I think I can come to the same conclusion with new evidence - Itemaggedon is bloating the economy for short-term profit, and other reasons why I personally find Itemaggedon cheap.
To understand why, I’ll first discuss the Itemaggedon itself. Itemaggedon included free hats, but none of them are relevant (except for party face) as all they did was increase the customization options. I will grant it to Luduvo that it was a good move. However, limiteds released, in steadily increasing prices, which will lead onto my first point. There are way too many cheap limiteds, and I will explain exactly how this is bad for you and good for Luduvo.
Part of the worth of lunes is how many there are. There are many ways to calculate worth, but this is the most simple. Less lunes means they’re golden, and more importantly, an abundance of lunes means that they’re worthless. One thing that you may have been annoyed about is that the cheap limiteds sold out like limited edition Pokémon cards, and you’re right to complain about that, because people are reselling these limiteds at 500x the price. This is causing a huge abundance of wealth to be distributed too fast too freely, and having an overflowing economy is just as bad as having a dry economy, because now about 50% of the playerbase of Luduvo own Lunes ATLEAST in the triple digits. These are being provided by the admins and then used to quadruple their lunes through limiteds.
“Well,” You ask, “Why is Luduvo doing this if it’s destroying their economy?” And there’s a very simple answer. Luduvo now must have made a substantial amount of money simply through people buying these limiteds, expecting to get their profit. And just like your favourite meme crypto coin, they can always abandon ship with you on it. Buying limiteds with bought lunes IS gambling, it appears. The reason why the limiteds would increase in price as they released is because, if you sold your limited fast, you could now place a bet on the newer, more expensive limited.
Now, I said I had other reasons, so I’ll quickly touch on something else. Luduvo is eating the leftovers of ROBLOX constantly, copying their classic hats. At first it seemed like just fun little tributes to the old community, but now it’s starting to get ridiculous. They’re copying hat after hat after hat after face, some of these are even expensive limiteds just ripped from ROBLOX with a new model. Won’t they have some originality?
This post has gone long enough, so if you’ve read the entire thing, good job on having a long attention span, this took me pretty long to write. You’re welcome to agree or disagree or criticise in this thread, but don’t just lick Luduvo’s shoes clean and provide an actual reason why.
