[Windows] Client fails to transpile vulkan shaders and makes it impossible to open projects

Version Information and Specs

Luduvo Version: Luduvo 39-dirty (45c4fd8f55cf)
Operating System: Windows 11 (10.0.26200.0 | x64)
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800H @3.20 GHz
GPU: Intel(R) NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti Laptop GPU (4 GB)

Describe The Issue

After updating Luduvo and opening Luduvo Studio (again), it immediately found that I couldn’t open any projects at all. The error message shown in-app is as follows:

14:44:36 Session: the local server starts...
14:44:36 Opened project: C:\Users\jediw\Documents\Luduvo\Jediweirdo's Place
14:44:36 [Client] hello
14:44:37 the client did not start. See the log for details
14:44:37 Session: the client did not start.
14:44:37 Session: the world is closed.
14:44:37 Session: the client did not start.

In client.log, I got a more descriptive error:

2026-09-12 - 21:44:37.487 [ERROR] Load_shader: failed to read transpiled shader C:\Users\jediw\AppData\Roaming\Luduvo\Client\content\versions\2\shaders\vulkan\cull_compact_color.csh.spv
2026-09-12 - 21:44:37.488 [ERROR] Culling: failed to create compact material resources
2026-09-12 - 21:44:37.491 [ERROR] WorldRenderer: main culling colour compaction init failed
2026-09-12 - 21:44:37.500 [ERROR] SceneRenderer: gfx_wr_init failed

I wanted to try switching backends to DX12, but the settings for controlling rendering have been all but obliterated

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Update Luduvo from before 45c4fd8f55cf
  2. Open any project
  3. Wait for the error

Expected Behavior

Studio opens the desired project, even if they can’t use the viewport (like what happens in dirty 37)
