After weeks of driving myself to the brink of insanity due to size parity between Blender and Luduvo, I’m happy to announce that Version 0.1 of my Mesh Pack is here!
There’s a few things that I want to highlight before anyone gets too excited, however. These meshes, while close in size, are NOT one to one. Turns out that Parts in Luduvo are a little bit bigger, and actually clip into each other a little- so parity isn’t quite exact with the defaults.
Something else I feel the need to mention is the fact that the hitboxes aren’t exactly mesh-accurate, thanks to Luduvo just… not having support for that quite yet as far as I can tell (Hopefully, that changes soon!)
Finally, as you can tell by the title, this is Version 0.1. There’s a few issues I’ve noticed that I’ve simply decided would be fine to have in this early version, and polish up later. I’ll be adding more meshes for builders with time, so if you have any suggestions, feel free to @ me on the forums or suggest your idea in the comments!
There’s a readme attached that goes more in-depth with the current issues and ideas for the project, but that’s for you to read later. Hopefully this mesh pack is useful to someone out there- and I should be able to get some new meshes out sooner or later! Until then, happy building!
Downloading Tutorial
- Hope that the moderators don’t ban me for trying to share the Luduvo project file via google drive.
- Go to this Google Drive, and download the Luduvo project files.
- Unzip the file where you’re comfortable
- Open up Luduvo Studio
- Open up the downloaded Luduvo Project Folder
- Copy the model, close the current project, and paste it into your project of choice.
I would have liked to have just export an LDV file and call it a day, but we can’t really insert prefabs while in the studio quite yet, so this was the best I could do. I’m considering re-naming the pack to “Insanity Building Meshes” because of the nightmares I was facing while trying to get the scaling just right early on… that and the name sounds cool.
Please, report any issues you encounter while using the mesh pack to me! Speaking of…
KNOWN ISSUES:
- The Pipe mesh’s inner rings are offset with the surface of the outer rings
- The Quarter Sphere’s mesh scales a little funny
- Mesh Collisions aren’t accurate (Could be a limitation of the Luduvo engine.)
- Meshes are smaller than the default parts to save my sanity (the default parts being slightly thicker could be either an oversight on Luduvo’s end, or an intentional feature. Which one it is, I have no idea.)
