What’s something you’ve done on Luduvo? You’ve probably done a ton of things, and I’d bet one of them was customizing your avatar!
You all love the cosmetics, and I can’t thank you enough for that. But we keep hearing the same complaints:
- “There are too many limiteds!”
- “There aren’t enough cosmetics!”
- “Why haven’t you made this item yet?”
- “Can you make more of this accessory type?”
You get the point. It all comes down to one thing: the marketplace isn’t big enough for you to make your avatar truly yours.
We could spend years adding items to the marketplace one at a time. But the best people to fill it are you, the creators who already know what the community wants.
That’s why I’m proud to announce the Luduvo User-Generated Cosmetics Program. Approved creators will be able to design, upload, and sell their own hats, faces, and other avatar items on the Luduvo marketplace. This is our next big step in how people express themselves on Luduvo, so let’s get into it.
How It Works
- Get accepted by invitation or application (more on that below).
- Create your item in your creative software of choice and upload it via our creator website.
- We review it. Every item goes through moderation before it reaches the marketplace. This keeps quality high and keeps Luduvo safe.
- It goes live. Your item appears in the marketplace for everyone to buy and wear.
- You earn Lunes every time someone buys it.
Who Can Join?
We’d love to open UGC cosmetics to everyone, but that won’t happen for a long time. We’ve watched other platforms try it, and almost every time the program floods with rule-breaking content, low-quality items, and spam as soon as it opens to the public. Safety is built into everything we do, so we won’t take that risk.
Until we have systems strong enough to keep things safe and spam-free at scale, the program is invite and application only.
The requirements are short:
- A clean moderation record. You can’t have had serious moderation action on your account. This means severe violations like sexual, violent, hateful, or scam content that led to major account penalties. A small warning from months ago won’t count against you.
- A strong 3D modeling portfolio that our team can review.
That’s it! We kept the list short on purpose so as many great creators as possible can join.
Meeting the requirements doesn’t guarantee acceptance. Admission is at Luduvo’s discretion.
How Do I Get In?
There are two ways into the program.
Invitation
If we spot a Luduvo creator with exceptional skill, we may email the address linked to their Luduvo account and invite them into the program.

Application
Realistically, we won’t be sending out golden tickets very often. We don’t have the time or resources to hand-pick everyone.

When Does It Start?
The first group of creators will begin uploading cosmetics in late November. We’ll start with a small group and expand from there.
FAQ
What can I make?
All avatar cosmetics except bundles and animations will be able to be created by our creators inside of this program. More item types will come as the program grows. Creators can make items with variants.
How do I get paid?
Creators earn Lunes on every sale. We don’t offer cashing out to real money yet. It’s something we plan to add in the future, and we’ll announce it when it’s ready.
How much do I earn per sale?
Creators go through our standard 20% tax on their Lunes for every sale on their items.
Do I set my own prices?
Yes, however we have our own minimums for each accessory type. Accepted creators will be told of these minimum prices.
Can UGC items be limiteds?
No. UGC items are standard marketplace items. The program exists to give you more cosmetics, not more limiteds.
Is there a fee to upload?
We charge 100 Lunes to upload a cosmetic onto Luduvo. Nothing else. We take those 100 Lunes and nothing else. This is the lowest we could get the number while keeping our financials in check.
How long until I hear back about my application?
We’ll only contact accepted creators, if you get rejected, you will not hear back from us. Creators can expect a response within a few weeks if they do get accepted, however this changes depending on how many people are applying to the program at a time.
I got rejected. Can I apply again?
Yes, if you don’t hear back from us, that probably means you got rejected. Feel free to reapply after ~6 months if you still haven’t heard back from us.
What’s not allowed?
Everything in our Community Guidelines applies to UGC items. Your items must be your own original work. You can’t upload copied models or anything that uses another brand’s characters, logos, or trademarks. Breaking these rules can get your items removed and your program access revoked.
Can I lose access once I’m in?
Yes. Serious moderation violations, uploading stolen work, or repeated rejected submissions can get you removed from the program.
