Game Discovery Update

Game Discovery Update

Let’s start with an admission: discovery on Luduvo has been rough.

We shipped it half-finished, and we knew it. If you’re a player, it meant scrolling past the same handful of games and wondering if that was all there was. If you’re a creator, it meant pouring real work into something and watching it sink without a trace. Neither of those is acceptable, and the second one especially keeps us up at night. Building a place where creators get paid for great work means nothing if nobody can find the great work in the first place.

So we fixed it. Today we’re rolling out a major overhaul of how games get discovered on Luduvo.

This is the single biggest thing we could do right now for the people building on our platform, and it’s why we moved it to the front of the queue. A good game made by someone with no audience should be able to find one. That’s the whole idea.

We’re not calling this finished. Discovery is something we’re going to keep tuning for as long as Luduvo exists, and the tuning gets a lot better when we know what you’re actually experiencing. So go play some new games! Go find something you wouldn’t have found last week. Then come tell us what worked and what didn’t.

Let us know what you think.

Cool

Dynamic faces are already planned

YESSSSSSSSS!!!

Genuinely? That would be awesome

Finally, someone else that actually has a brain

Absolute peak update

Not as peak as dynamic faces…

There should be reactive faces… Like, faces that react with the environment. If you fall or die, the face could react in a negative way. Opposite for something positive happening. They could also be programmed to change expression.

It’d be cool if they were 2D. Like, interchangable face decals like L eye, R eye, Mouth, L eyebrow, R eyebrow, secondary ( blushes, tattoos, etc.) Each face would be transformed into a “bundle”, containing all the parts you’d expect.

Breaking an animatable face into its different components is definitely the way to go, especially since some faces aren’t going to have things like mouths (i.e., the puppy dawg face) or have extra features like eyebrows. I really really like the idea of animatable (2D) faces so that anyone can use any face they want and devs can still make cutscenes and whatnot using them
